Endless Possibilities

"Freedom is actually a bigger game than power. Power is about what you can control. Freedom is about what you can unleash."
- Harriet Rubin

Some people find a sense of place in the childhood home they grew up in or the city they aspire to one day live in.
But my place is not exactly like that, and that is because my place is space.
It is my place not because of where it is or what it contains, but because of what it represents.
It represents openness and limitless possibilities.
I can look to the sky at night and see space and just envision everything I want.
It is a vast and boundless place that reminds me that I can do and achieve anything.
It emphasizes that my life and my actions are completely in my control.
Space is also reliable.
It stays the same.
As sure as the sun comes up, it also goes down, darkening the sky and awakening space.
It does not matter where I am, space is always there.
It is the constant reminder that I am in control of my destiny and that my future is mine to take hold of.
Space is my place because of how I feel when I see it.
It is my place because of what it encourages me to do.
That is why space is my place.
My place of endless possibilities.

  1. Having read your first post before you changed it to this current one and comparing it to this new post, I really enjoyed the differences and the appropriateness of your most current addition of the first assignment.

As far as the content of your passage is concerned, I thought that is was a very interesting and thought provoking topic that you wrote about. It was creative that instead of being restricted to a certain area that everyone is familiar with, you choose space. It is a vast area…obviously, but you did a great job connecting “space” back to your audience and making it relateable to everyone. Although your audience may not have the same passion towards space exploration as you, I do think that everyone can relate to enjoying things, people, or ideas that are reliable, but are not limited- which is how you explained the concept of space.

The way you decided to center your text was something else that I found interesting because in the StarWars movies that is how the introduction and credits (I believe) are shown. It really pulls out the background of your blog and ties it back into the subject matter and text that you wrote. The yellow and black predominate colors of your blog were a great choice; they match well with the background and also illuminate the vastness of space itself.

The repetitive introduction style you chose to start your stanzas with was an engaging way to read your text and I thought that it fit your subject matter and theme well. I also really liked how you added a quote before your image and before your text. It gave me as a reader an open mind into reading your post and left me with something think about even after I exited you blog site.

Good job! I look forward to reading more of your posts.
