Originality

This is the past, present, and future.

Even Banksy isn't truly original, but the way he reworks past ideas is original.

Is anything we do nowadays original or is it just a remake of something else?
People have to draw inspiration from something and from that does it take away from originality?
I don't really think that originality exists in the sense that we think of anymore.
People don't come up with new ideas anymore instead they rework old ideas in a new, original way.
This extends into everything in life, I don’t think any of my feelings or ideas are truly original but the way they affect me or how I use them is original.
I don’t think my views and feelings on space are limited just to me, however what I am able to take from them is original.
The same goes for novels and movies.
Star Wars is a perfect example of films that rework something that already exists.
It kind of makes you wonder how far this extends.
Does Andre Breton's First Manifesto of Surrealism draw from other things or is it completely original?
I would venture to say that Breton had to draw from inspiration elsewhere to write his manifesto.
However, it’s the way in which he concludes his inspiration into his own work that makes it original.
I think we will forever draw from inspiration and rework old ideas from the past in the present and into the future.
